At 4:28 PM, our department was alerted for Ladder 65 on the 'working fire dispatch' to assist Liberty Fire Co., Spring City with a building fire. The location of the fire was the Sustain Self Storage facility on Riverside Drive in Spring City Borough.

Chief 65, Deputy 65 and Ladder 65-1 responded to the incident. Ladder 65-1 was assigned to set up at the front of the building and use the master stream to flow water into the building. Personnel also assisted with forcing open locked rollup doors along the rear of the building to access individual storage units. Hand lines were used to extinguish the remaining fire and overhaul was performed.

A backhoe and operator from Borough of Phoenixville Public Works assisted with removing smoldering contents from storage units. Our department cleared the scene after three hours.

At 4:31 PM, Deputy 65 came across a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Nutt Road and Kimberton Road. Rescue 65 and MICU 65-2 responded to this incident. Personnel assisted with removing debris from the roadway. No occupants were transported from the scene.

Earlier in the afternoon, a crew with Rescue 65 extinguished a couple small mulch fires in the landscaping between the driveways to Lawn and Golf Supply Co., and Phoenixville Plaza on Nutt Road.
