| A new "Wag'N O2 Fur Life" pet oxygen mask kit has been placed on our rescue truck. The kit has specially-designed masks in three different sizes, includes a quick start guide with instructions on CPR for cats & dogs, and a kennel lead for safe animal handling.
This equipment was generously donated by Barbara Cieri. Barbara saw that our firefighters and EMS personnel recently rescued several cats from a house fire on Starr Street and wanted to support our efforts with updated equipment.
We continue to carry older "Fido Bags" on our engine and ladder truck. We first began carrying pet oxygen masks a decade ago. This new kit adds another valuable tool to help us care for pets while we are at a fire or other emergency. |
