PHOENIXVILLE, PA - Just prior to 2 PM, the department and Trappe Fire Company No. 1 EMS of Phoenixville were alerted for a multi-vehicle crash on Nutt Road at Sherman Street. Chief, Deputy & Rescue 65 and MICU 85 responded on the assignment.

While enroute to the crash, county communications advised there was a report of entrapment in one of the vehicles. A MICU from West End Fire Company #3 of Phoenixville was added to the assignment.

Crews arrived to find a three-vehicle crash. One driver was confined but firefighters were able to quickly open the driver's door. Chief 65 requested a third ambulance to the scene, bringing a MICU from Royersford Fire Department EMS of Spring City. Two patients were transported to area hospitals. A third patient was evaluated by EMS personnel on scene but declined treatment.

Fire crews cleared the scene after about a half hour.
