We are hosting our annual Kickoff to Fire Prevention Week during the October "First Friday" in Downtown Phoenixville. The fire department will occupy Main Street between Bridge and Church Streets from 5:30 to 8:30 PM on October 7th.

In conjunction with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the theme of this year’s Fire Prevention Week is “Fire won’t wait. Plan your escape.” In support of this message Firefighters will engage families to think of different ways they can escape if a fire would occur. We will also have Home Fire Escape Plan and Family Safety Action Plan cards for families to take home to create their own fire escape and action plans. You can also use the links below to view and print these plans.

We will continue to promote our Smoke Alarm program for those residents of Phoenixville Borough who are unable to purchase or maintain smoke alarms. Residents in need may request our department visit to test and install new batteries in existing smoke alarms. If smoke alarms are missing or outdated, the department will install a new smoke alarm in the apartment or each level of a house. Residents may sign-up for this program by using the link below. Everyone is reminded to test smoke alarms each month.

We expect a visit from Sparky the Fire Dog during our event. Sparky will meet and greet children and parents alike.

This night will also offer you the opportunity to meet your local Firefighters, look at the equipment we use, sit inside your Phoenixville fire trucks and plenty of photo opportunities for your family.

After this kickoff on First Friday, the department will spend the following couple weeks visiting schools and early learning centers in Phoenixville. Firefighters will teach age-specific family and fire safety topics to students.

We welcome families from any community to come visit us Friday, October 7th on Bridge Street in Phoenixville!
