Evening Crash on Route 113 Inter-County Bridge |

At 5:53 PM, our department and Freedom Valley Medical Rescue were dispatched for a vehicle crash on the Black Rock Road (Route 113) Bridge over the Schuylkill River. Chief, Engine 65-2, Rescue, Squad and Fire Police responded on the assignment. Based upon additional information from witnesses at the scene, the assignment was upgraded to a crash with entrapment, adding a MICU from West End Fire Company #3 of Phoenixville. Crews arrived on location to find a two-vehicle crash with no entrapment. There were no injuries. Firefighters assisted with cleanup of debris and awaited removal of the vehicles by a tow company. Royersford Fire Department assisted with closing the roadway on the Montgomery County side. The roadway was reopened and fire units cleared the scene after about an hour and a half. At the same time, a crew with Ladder 65 responded to Front Street in Upper Providence Township to assist UPT Fire & Emergency Services with a building fire. Our crew was assigned to ladder the rear of the building and investigate HVAC units on the roof. Crews cleared this incident in just under an hour. |
