At 4:04 PM, our department and first-alarm mutual aid companies were alerted for a building fire in the Westridge complex off of Mowere Road and Township Line Road. Flames were reported coming from the roof and rear of the building.

Chief 65 went enroute and could see a column of black smoke in the sky prompting an immediate request for a Working Fire Dispatch. Chief 65 arrived on location to find a large volume of fire from a two-story condominium building and requested the second alarm be struck, bringing additional resources. Firefighters placed three hand lines and a portable water monitor in service to extinguish the fire, conducted searches for any remaining occupants, and performed ventilation. PECO was notified to de-energize power to the building.

Several pets were rescued. Two firefighters were treated on scene for dehydration. There were no civilian injuries despite the majority of the units being occupied at the time of the fire.

There was a total of ten condos in the building. Chester County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire. At this time the cause is undetermined but believed to be accidental in nature

The fire was brought under control after about 45 minutes. The last fire units cleared the scene after about three and a half hours.

Limerick Fire Department and Ludwigs Corner Fire Company transferred an engine and ladder to Phoenixville to assist with any additional emergencies while our personnel were operating at this fire.

Thank you to all agencies that provided assistance.
