| At 2:29 PM, Our department was alerted for Ladder 65 to assist Kimberton Fire Company on a house fire on Deer Run Lane in East Pikeland Township. The caller reported flames from the front & roof of the house. Captain 61 requested the Working Fire Dispatch while enroute due to visible smoke from a distance.
Ladder 65 arrived and set the main to the roof. The crews split up with one crew assisting with extinguishment of the fire while the second crew ventilated the roof. Engine 65-2 also responded on the assignment and assisted our ladder crew. The fire was placed under control after about an hour.
During the house fire, an engine from Liberty Fire Co., Spring City was alerted to assist our department with a small mulch fire at the Acme Market on Starr Street. After clearing the mulch fire, Liberty's engine transferred to our station to assist with any additional emergencies in town.
Our department cleared the house fire after about two hours. |
