| Tony served our department for nearly two decades. He began working at West End Fire Company #3 (formerly part of the Phoenixville Fire Department) around the mid‑2000s. He later transferred to Phoenix Hose, Hook & Ladder Co. No. 1, where he continued working part‑time until his retirement in 2021.
During his time with us, Tony played a key role in organizing several events that raised funds and strengthened our connection to the community. Most notably, he established our annual golf outing fundraiser in 2020. He also led projects such as our involvement in Community Service Fighting Cancer, which included selling limited‑edition T‑shirts and adding a temporary pink wrap to one of our engines. Community members were invited to sign the wrapped area with messages of support in exchange for a donation. All proceeds were given to individuals in our community who were fighting cancer.
In 2009, while working for Plymouth Community Ambulance Association, Tony helped establish their annual “Operation Christmas Kids” toy drive, which our department participated in for several years. This toy drive continues to be a popular event, providing toys for the pediatric unit at Bryn Mawr Hospital and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.
We will miss Tony and extend our heartfelt condolences to the Franz and Wilson families. |
